Built in 1974, the Premier Alatau Hotel in Alma – Ata was one of the largest hotels in Kazakhstan, accommodating 870 people. This curved nine-story building with a three-story pavilion, made of reinforced concrete panels and stained glass windows, stands out for its modern look.
In 1979, the hotel became a monument of local history and culture. The building underwent renovations in 1997, 2001 and 2014, remaining an important historical and cultural site and an example of successful architectural adaptation.
